Michael Mark Awarded CCIM Designation April 5 in Chicago

Mark Awarded CCIM Designation April 5 in Chicago
Beaufort, SC  - Michael Mark, REALTOR and Broker Associate with Coldwell Banker Platinum Partners, has been awarded the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation by the CCIM Institute. The designation was awarded during the Institute’s Midyear business meetings April 5 in Chicago.
Michael Mark was among the 149 commercial real estate professionals who earned the designation by passing the CCIM Institute’s Comprehensive Examination, the final element in the designation process. This new group of CCIM designees hails from 38 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and several provinces in Canada.
Michael shares, “In 1986 I graduated from University of South Carolina with a degree in finance and took over the back office of my family’s furniture business. From 1986 through 2008 I was able to grow the business from an 11,000 square foot outdated downtown location to a 60,000 square foot furniture complex with FWDG as the anchor and additional rental space for complementary businesses. During this time, I leased and renovated our previous downtown location, today it is one of the premier restaurants in Beaufort.  I obtained my real estate license in 2003 to be an informed investor and placed it with Coldwell Banker Platinum Partners. I then proceeded to help other investors navigate the market and this evolved into a full time career.   In January 2008 I sold my furniture business and turned my full focus to real estate and started by helping both residential and commercial clients, this blossomed into a very strong following that has allowed me to stay as a top producing agent in the local marketplace.  My commercial real estate business in Beaufort has been growing and I am transitioning my focus to this segment, luckily with the team we have in place I will still be able to help my residential clients and insure they receive to top block service.  The redevelopment of outdated properties such as small mobile home parks in strategic locations and older commercial buildings in the core commercial districts have been a primary focus with additional work in site location for companies moving into the area, and sales of investment properties. I have been very pleased with the flow of clients seeking my services.”
The CCIM designation is awarded to commercial real estate professionals upon successful completion of an advanced analytical curriculum and presentation of a portfolio of qualifying industry experience. The curriculum addresses financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, and investment analysis — the cornerstones of commercial investment real estate. CCIMs are recognized experts in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, asset management, valuation, and investment analysis.  Michael continues, “Over the past year I have worked towards obtaining the status of CCIM. I am pleased to say that in April I completed all classes and tests and have received the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) Designation.”
